Sometimes an idea is so brilliant and so obvious that we can’t see it sitting right in front of us. The Timbit and the Double Double coffee are the two most quintessential Tim Hortons items on the Tim Hortons menu and in 2019, they’re finally coming together. So delicious. So duh.

Tim Hortons has just announced a limited-edition lineup of menu items that are aimed towards “warming up your winter,” with the new Double Double Timbit as the item getting the most buzz. We never thought we needed a Double Double Timbit, but now that we’re hearing about it, we can’t believe it wasn’t already a thing. (Not counting shoving an entire Old Fashioned plain Timbit into your mouth and taking a sip of your Double Double, because we’ve definitely done that.)

We’re going to have to really think about this existential development while inhaling a snack pack of 10 Double Double Timbits.

Jorge Zaidan, Head of Marketing for Tim Hortons Canada, said of the new lineup, “With many cold winter days still ahead, we want to warm Canadians’ spirits with exciting new flavours and treats they’ll get excited about. We’re excited to bring the beloved Tim Hortons Double Double flavour to Canadians in an entirely new way.”

We’re Canadian. We’re excited. And yes, we’re still cold.

In addition to the Double Double Timbit ($0.29 each), Tim Hortons is also introducing a Tiramisu Donut ($1.59 each), described as a donut “filled with coffee-flavoured Tiramisu filling, topped with a dusting of cocoa powder and two Tim Hortons® espresso beans.” We’re not mad at any of those words.

Three limited-edition drinks are also being introduced, including the Caramel Fudge Hot Chocolate ($2.69), a hot chocolate with an added caramel fudge flavour, whipped topping, and caramel fudge drizzle, the Caramel Fudge French Vanilla ($2.99), a traditional French Vanilla with added caramel fudge flavour, whipped topping, and caramel fudge drizzle, and finally the Caramel Fudge Latte ($3.59), with caramel fudge flavour, whipped topping, and caramel fudge drizzle. If you like to warm up with sugar, then yes, these items will warm you up.

Reactions to the new Double Double Timbit have been mostly positive, with Canadians feeling patriotic about the delicious ball of sugar.

The new coffee-flavoured baked goods and drinks will only be available in select Tim Hortons for a limited time, so if you’ve ever wondered what a Double Double Timbit tastes like, you better try it now. Maybe try an entire box just to be on the safe side.
