The 23-year-old actor is beloved for his acting work, his handsome looks, swoon-worthy hair and for consistently taking risks on the red carpet. Looks like everyone noticed and Timmy's sartorial influence has earned him the title of the influential man in fashion. Lyst just released its annual Year in Fashion Index and Chalamet came out on top thanks to his colourful and bold fashion choices. The website looks at data gathered from the 104 million shoppers who search for fashion on Lyst every year, adding in page views, sales metrics, online stores, social media mentions and more to compile their list, with Chalamet’s name ending up at the top of list the list. While Meghan Markle was the overall top power dresser for 2019, Chalamet was the only man in the top five (Harry Styles came in at number nine and Billy Porter bookended the list at number 10). Zendaya, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Lisa from Blackpink, Kylie Jenner and Lizzo all made the list as well.According to Lyst, there was a 192 percent increase in searches for men’s hoodies following Chalamet’s appearance at the U.S. premiere for The King, where the young actor wore a black sequined sweater from Louis Vuitton.

Haider Ackermann FTW

In September, Chalamet unofficially won the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival where he played with gender norms in fashion and wore a silver-gray belted Haider Ackermann suit. Chalamet’s appearance in the suit saw an astounding 806 percent increase in searches for Ackermann’s designs, showing the power of Chalamet. According to Lyst, not even the hugely popular dresses, jackets and purses worn by Markle resulted in a such a fervent interest in one particular designer. This wasn’t the first time Chalamet had worn a piece by the French designer, though. At the 2018 TIFF premiere of Chalamet’s heart-wrenching drama Beautiful Boy, the actor had some fun on the red carpet in a black suit by Ackermann that featured white branches snaking up the pant legs and arms.Chalamet’s striking looks and playful approach to fashion have made him one of the most exciting people to see on a red carpet, with the actor bouncing between suits and tuxes to more avant-garde looks, like the white boots and paint-splattered overalls from S.R. Studio. LA. CA. that he wore to the South Korean premiere of The King. The actor started the year off on a fashionable note, turning heads at the 2019 Golden Globes while wearing a bib (or is it a harness?) from Louis Vuitton, sparking a trend in men’s red carpet fashion for the remainder of the year. See? Influence.
