The 2020 Golden Globes may have only aired one week ago, but we already have our host, or in this case, hosts, lined up for next year. In 2020, something good has finally happened and that good thing is the announcement that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are returning to their rightful place on stage at The Beverly Hilton. In a hosting announcement that we totally called last week (and may have even said one or two prayers for), the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the longtime friends would once again take the stage together. HFPA president Lorenzo Soria, who probably didn’t enjoy being called a racist by this year’s host Ricky Gervais, confirmed the news on Saturday, saying "There's no denying that Tina and Amy's comedic chemistry is infectious. We can't wait to see the dynamic duo return to the Golden Globes stage." That sound you just heard was all of Hollywood letting out a sigh of relief.[video_embed id='1869425']RELATED: These were the best-dressed men at the Golden Globes[/video_embed]The HFPA have yet to announce a date for the 2021 Golden Globes, which traditionally take place in early January, but the TBA date could TBH be at 3 a.m. on a Wednesday and we would still be glued to the TV to watch the comedians together. Fey and Poehler previously hosted the Golden Globes in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and Poehler presented at this year’s Golden Globes, where she reunited with Taylor Swift and publicly squashed the trios beef on stage.Poehler and Fey have been fan favourites at the Golden Globes for years thanks to their ability to make fun of celebrities without making them uncomfortable. They know that viewers have only seen half (at most) of the movies nominated, and help bring them up to speed. They add some much-needed feminism to award shows, which continue to be dominated by men. Fey and Poehler make every award show better, even if they’re not the hosts. They’re the only two people who can catcall Neil Patrick Harris at the Emmys without it being degrading. They can fall up award show stairs and keep it classy. They presented at the 2019 Academy Awards with their SNL co-star and friend Maya Rudolph and instantly made us perk up at the four-hour mark.Even when they’re not hosting, the pair continue to be the bright light of the Golden Globes, like when Poehler did a bit on mansplaining with friend and host Seth Meyers. To say that people are excited for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to reunite on the Golden Globes stage would be an understatement. We may not know an exact date for the 2021 Golden Globes, but we do know that we’ll be watching old hosting clips of Fey and Poehler until next year’s ceremony.
