After a never-ending scandal involving molestation accusations and months of unpleasantness, TV network TLC has put an end to 19 Kids and Counting, the reality show which starred the illustrious Duggar family.

The series was officially cancelled Thursday morning by the network — and TLC was fairly clear about why. Here is the official statement:
TLC

They’re saying a lot without really saying anything, though we understand why they don’t want to get too into the specifics of their cancellation decision; 19 Kids had been in limbo since May after revelations that 27-year-old Josh Duggar molested five children, including four of his sisters.

For 10 (!) seasons, 19 Kids chronicled the home life of religious Arkansas couple Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their now-19 children. It was pulled unceremoniously in May when reports surfaced of the molestation that occurred 12 years earlier.

Not one to let a show just gracefully go away, TLC will put out its documentary on child abuse in the next month or so. At least they’re doing their due diligence on this one.
