Tom Hanks has starred in some of the biggest rom coms of all time, including Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, and Splash, so what could be more romantic than running into the actor on your wedding day? No really, we don’t know.

One couple found out, when their wedding day photo session was interrupted by the Academy Award winning actor, who graciously chatted with the bride and groom and posed for pictures.

Newlyweds Elisabeth and Ryan were posing in Central Park for their photographer Meg Miller, when a jogger got too close to the couple, forcing Miller to take a break from shooting. But the jogger quickly took off his hat and offered the couple his congratulations, revealing himself as Forrest freaking Gump. There’s no crying in baseball, but if Tom Hanks poses with you on your wedding day, you can totally shed a tear.

Miller quickly snapped pictures of Hanks and the couple, with the actor even mentioning that he was an ordained minister and could have married the two if he had gotten there sooner. Hanks also took a selfie with Elisabeth and Ryan to post on his own Twitter page and posed with the flower girl and ring bearer who likely have no idea how cool this story is going to be to tell in a few years.

Elizabeth and Ryan! Congrats and blessings! Hanx.

The moment was not only directed by the same A-lister who directed That Thing You Do!, but also captured by Miller and the couple’s wedding videographer, whose services totally just paid for themselves.

Sorry mom and dad. That wedding photo of the family that was going to hang in the living room just got bumped for Tom Hanks.
