Tom Hardy is best known for playing dark, twisty, creepy characters in action-packed movies like The Revenant, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Dark Knight Rises. (His Bane voice might even be burned in your brain, it’s that haunting.) So he’s the perfect guy to read you and your kids a bedtime story, right? Obviously.

Hardy appeared on BBC’s CBeebies Bed Time Stories on Sunday, which also happened to mark Mother’s Day in the U.K. So it seemed only fitting that he would read the kiddos, and their parents, There’s A Bear On My Chair by Ross Collins. It’s a funny little tale about a mouse who wants a polar bear out of his favourite chair.

Oh, MY. Sadly, on this side of the pond CBeebies didn’t include Hardy memorably reading the line “I will jump out in my underwear” but this’ll do just fine. Because, that accent. He could read our grocery flyers and we’d all be enraptured. Up until that smirk at the end, we half-expected Hardy to rip the head off the bear, throw the mouse across the room and kick the crap out of that yellow, googly-eyed emoji but that’s Tom, the actor. This was clearly Tom, the dad.

Best of all, there’s more; this wasn’t Hardy’s first reading. On Valentine’s Day, he got into The Cloudspotter by Tom Mclaughlin. Even with his dog Woody at his feet, his lines in the preview of his big event were just cheeky enough to make his fans blush.

The first time Hardy read a bedtime story on CBeebies was on New Year’s Eve, when he took on You Must Bring a Hat by Simon Philip and Kate Hindley. Tom had Woody by his side once again and even donned his own jaunty chapeau.

It’s been reported that Hardy has recorded five bedtime stories in total, so let’s figure out when the next two holidays are and get the popcorn ready for those dreamy days. You know, for the stories, not the storyteller.
