If you’re like us and have watched Tom Hardy in one of his many blockbuster films and thought, ‘Can this handsome man get even more handsome?’ We now have an answer. Yes, yes he can. How did it happen? By recently becoming a real-life superhero. Cue the swooning.
The British entertainer has become one of the most exciting actors to watch over the past decade. His work in films like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Inception, The Drop, Legend, and Mad Max: Fury Road show his incredible range on screen.
For his role as fur trapper John Fitzgerald in 2015’s The Revenant, Hardy earned a well-deserved Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Now it looks like some of the moves Hardy picked up tracking his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio through the Canadian north have come in handy on city streets as well.
While in London over the weekend, Hardy spotted two thieves making off with a stolen moped. According to eyewitnesses, Hardy chased down the thieves, with one thief apprehended quickly. The other thief made off on foot, with Hardy running after him. According to the many witnesses who saw Hardy give chase, the two ran through gardens and down streets. Eventually, the Hollywood actor caught the perpetrator and made a citizens arrest in an empty lot. If movie studios are looking for their next James Bond, we think we found him.
The actor’s official spokesperson declined requests to give comments on the situation, with local police also keeping mum on whether or not Hardy was involved. But considering the number of people confirming that it was in fact the Oscar-nominated actor who chased down the thieves, were pretty confident that the story is true.
Plus, Hardy played one of the most terrifying villains of all time in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises as Bane. Considering the character gave us chills even with a costume that mostly obscured Hardy’s face and voice, we imagine that seeing the muscular actor in the flesh would be enough to scare off most people looking for trouble.
