With Jimmy Kimmel away for the summer, and actor Anthony Anderson filling in as the first guest host for
Jimmy Kimmel Live!, it only makes sense that his co-star Tracee Ellis Ross would be the first celeb interview. Not only is she a joy and a delight, she just lifts the entire interview up with her funny anecdotes and positive outlook. Checking in with her
Black-ish “lawfully-wedded TV husband” on video chat, she noted that even though her mother, the legendary Diana Ross, is stuck at home like the rest of us, she still always looks like a million bucks.“My mom is actually great,” Tracee said, “and the other thing that's crazy is my mom will pop up on a Zoom and I'm like, ‘Why do you look so gorgeous?’ She's like, ‘What, I'm just in my sweats!’ Gorgeous!”
Hold up. Diana Ross wears sweatpants too? While Tracee didn't get into exactly
how her mother
always looks like
the picture of
perfection at all times, it could have something to do with the little tidbit she revealed back in 2012. Tracee
confirmed back then that Ms. Ross has always done her own hair and makeup—a helpful skill when suddenly there's a global pandemic and your hairdresser and makeup artist can't come within six feet of you. With that total ownership of her beauty routine and a natural skill for tech, looks like Diana Ross is truly the Zoom queen.“So my mom is really technically savvy,” TER confirmed. “We've got group family threads all of that. She's great.” Anthony's mother isn't quite there yet, referring to her communications as "Face-gramming" and "Insta-booking." Look, maybe none of us should be comparing our mothers to Diana Ross. The High Note, co-starring
Dakota Johnson, which has her singing quite a few songs—mostly powerhouse ballads.“I'm playing this like icon superstar singing sensation so I had to sing,” she explained, “I loved it, I recorded on the soundtrack, I have five songs. And Anthony Anderson are you ready for this bit of information? Okay I was last week number 17 on the adult contemporary charts, now I’m 16! I’m 16 this week, I’m still going up!”If you haven’t heard Tracee’s banging tune from
The High Note soundtrack, "Love Myself," do
yourself a favour. She got her pipes from her momma.[video_embed id='1989797']BEFORE YOU GO: Instagram's new dance star is just four years old [/video_embed]
