Trevor Noah’s low-tech Daily Social Distancing Show, shot in the comedian’s home during this period of Coronavirus lockdown, doesn’t require the sizeable staff used by the talk show when it’s being filmed in studio. But that doesn’t mean Noah’s crew of camera people, lighting technicians, sound operators, and editors aren’t still receiving a paycheque. Unlike some other popular television personalities (*cough* Ellen *cough*) who are alleged to have left their staff high and dry during the pandemic (meaning without a salary or any communication about when they might expect to receive one again), Noah is continuing to pay the people who regularly work on his show.Variety reports that the host is reaching deep into his own pockets to pay the salaries of the 25 staffers who have had to be furloughed since the show moved out of its regular studio space. Noah has reportedly pledged to continue to do so until The Daily Show can go back to a normal production schedule. “Trevor is personally covering their salaries until the production business opens again,” says the magazine’s source. “He respects his crew tremendously and feels it’s only right that they get through this together.”[video_embed id='1929811']RELATED: Celebrities working from home has given us a sneak peak into their lives[/video_embed]And Noah isn’t the only do-gooder on the late night circuit. The Late Late Show’s James Corden (the man your kids know as the voice of Peter Rabbit) is also footing the bill for a crew of 60. Both hosts appear to be following in the footsteps of Jimmy Kimmel, who has been covering for furloughed Live employees since at least last month. The good karma must be paying off because all three shows are going strong online. Noah’s network has even expanded his socially distanced program to a full 45 minutes of air, errr, screen time following his massively successful interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci, a well-known human vaccine for the virulent Trumpvirus.
