July 1 is the day that all of us in this great nation set aside our differences and celebrate what we all have in common: loving Canada. It should be a time of unity and inclusion. That’s what Trudeau had in mind when he listed off all the provinces and territories of Canada to kick off the Canada 150 celebration on Parliament Hill. There’s nothing like getting that provincial shout-out from the PM on Canada Day. Alberta wouldn’t know though. They didn’t get one. Oops.

Got too excited somewhere over the Rockies. Sorry Alberta, I love you. Happy Canada Day!

Of course, JT later apologized, but getting left out like that stings pretty bad. Even days later, people are still talking about the shout-out that wasn’t. While some Albertans are furious and insulted by the PM (and, sure, you’re entitled to that), this is Canada, so naturally quite a few people found the humour in the situation.
Some just wanted to help out by offering a little Canadian geography lesson to the PM.
Here you go Justin ; a little help from a friend 🙂 pic.twitter.com/Jo8pSA1NTs

Others were full of theories as to why the province slipped his mind. Maybe sampling some of that green stuff he’s legalizing?
Maybe he was smoking too much weed before his speech.

Reminder: Justin studied dramatic arts. Not geography. When he sticks to the script good things happens (native speech was great).

Lots of people–Americans included–pointed out that while Trudeau may have snubbed a whole section of Canada, at least he’s not You-Know-Who.
very Canadian – he apologized for his slip vs. U.S. president who would blame the media for fake news

Wait a leader that apologizes? I am confused our US Pres. has never apologized for anything. He called Trudeau his good friend today maybe..

And some people were just plain hilarious about the whole thing.

PM Trudeau forgets Alberta in Canada Day speech. “For once it wasn’t us being forgotten!” said New Brunswick.

Don’t worry, Alberta, we could never forget you. Much love from the rest of Canada. But as one Canadian pointed out…
What’s a Canada thingie without a Sorry?
