Sorry, Apple, but you just got served. When it comes to cutting-edge, mind-blowing technology in the music world, Pizza Hut just became a major player. Sure, the restaurant chain dishes out some of the greasiest pies around, but their latest creation is the world’s first-ever playable DJ deck pizza box. That’s right, a cardboard pizza box-turned-DJ turntables. Your eyes did not deceive you.
According to Pizza Hut, all you need to do is connect it to your phone via Bluetooth or laptop, download any DJ software, choose the songs you want to mix and you’re good to go.
By using conductive ink, music and, obviously, pizza, wannabe DJs can mix and scratch like Calvin Harris or Paris Hilton, simply by sliding and tapping the presumably messy controls. The boxes feature two turntables, pitch volumes, cue and sync buttons and a cross-fader, as well as the ability to mix and scratch. Like any standard DJ setup.
Sadly, there are only five of these limited-edition playable DJ deck pizza boxes. But what’s sadder is they’re only available in the United Kingdom. Here’s hoping Pizza Hut’s offices in North America hears how badly we want to mix it up, and makes them available for us too.
