Although we sub lovers believed we were getting “five…five dollar…five dollar foot-longs” from Subway this whole time, it seems that we were only getting a sandwich in the 10.5 to 11-inch range. What’s the story, man!?
Following a 2013 class-action lawsuit filed by several international customers who were miffed that their subs (both 6-inch and 12-inch) didn’t measure up to their advertised size, Subway has announced that they will now ensure that all of their sandwiches — around the world — meet their promised length.
Size matters, Subway. It really does. Especially if you’re starving at lunchtime.
The unhappy sub plaintiffs who posted unflattering social media pics of their sandwiches next to a ruler and then sued the company, are set to receive compensation for their lawyer fees (up to $525,000) and up to $1,000 in damages. Not too shabby for a missing inch or two.
Anyone else gonna measure their lunch today?
