For those of us who live with their partners, we know very well how sacred it is to have your side of the bed. We also know that if anything were to come in the way of sleeping on that side, all hell would break loose.
According to a man named Steve O’Rourke, however, he revealed on Twitter that he and his wife don’t sleep on the same side of the bed every night. Instead, they go back and forth between sides. Blasphemy!
The tweet garnered uproar on Twitter and O’Rourke says he only discovered how “weird” it was when he was chatting at work with his co-workers.
We were just chatting in work and apparently it’s weird that Amy and I don’t sleep on the same side of the bed every night. Some nights I like to sleep by the window, some nights the door. It’s not really that unusual, is it?

He even shared how this unconventional method works. He says that the first one in bed chooses and that he and his wife have never disagreed over it. Finally, he states what we’ve all been wondering… no, “neither of us are aliens.”
Feel like I need to point out the following:
1. First one in chooses
2. We’ve never disagreed over it
3. We move pillows and books as we move
4. We don’t change every single night
5. Neither of us are aliens

Some of the responses that he’s gotten on Twitter perfectly sum up how many of us feel about the idea of swapping sides of the bed.
And here I was at 36 thinking I couldn’t be surprised any more by what other people get up to in bed pic.twitter.com/GO3g2e80LG

I know what all these words mean but cannot make sense of how you have put them together

I’m planning a march on London to end this nonsense.

But if we’re being honest, this tweet sums everything up perfectly:
Just want to add my voice to yes this is weird but I’m happy you two weirdos have found each other

Aw, true love indeed.
