A Youtuber and his young, trumpet-wielding pal earned the attention of composer John Williams by jamming out in front of his LA home.
The two horn players, Michael ‘Mickle’ Miller and 13-year-old Bryce Hayashi, belted out the iconic theme from Star Wars (yup, that’s in your head now) on a trumpet and flugelhorn on the sidewalk in front of the 84-year-old composer’s home. Halfway through the score Williams popped his head out to give the sidewalk musicians a wave. Then, after the performance, he actually came out to greet them and shake their hands. What a guy!
Williams joked that he didn’t think the teen trumpeter would be able to climb all the way up to the high notes, but he did.
We’ll give props to the two players because A) they were great and B) that took some major cajones. But we’re also super impressed by Williams’ reaction, giving the players the time of day and being so kind and welcoming.
We’re sure this isn’t the way all celebrities would’ve reacted to their fans showing up in front of their home to play an ode to them.
