Wanted: Royal personal assistant
Just six months into the job, the Daily Mail has reported that Duchess Meghan‘s personal assistant has resigned. The aide, identified only as “Melissa,” is believed to have quit suddenly. Melissa was apparently responsible for controlling the damage in the wake of Thomas Markle‘s fudged photo scandal a week before the royal wedding, which probably wasn’t what she imagined going into the job.
“Melissa is a hugely talented person,” said a Kensington Palace source. “She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.”
The insider added that it’s a “real shock,” asking the question we all want to know: “Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?”
Well, at least Meghan still has other assistant, Amy Pickerill. For now.
With Meghan and Harry expecting their first child in a few months, the job is only going to be that much more demanding. Megs has proved she likes to work, so having to keep up with her takes a strong, unflappable person capable of toiling for countless hours and handling the likes of Meghan’s family. Where do we sign up?
Pete Davidson got served on SNL
Last week wasn’t a great week for Pete Davidson on Saturday Night Live. Sure, he was able to say some nice things about ex Ariana Grande but it was his controversial joke about Lt. Cdr. Dan Crenshaw‘s eye patch that got him in some hot water. This week, however, Davidson apologized to the newly elected congressman, in person, after he was invited onto the show.
Crenshaw was gracious and accepted the apology, and things only got better when the navy vet’s phone rang — to the ringtone of Ariana’s “Breathin’.”
Crenshaw also showed off his comedic timing and delivered a few burns of his own.

The segment got serious when Crenshaw spoke about Veteran’s Day, as well as recognizing “heroes like Pete’s father,” Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11. It was a moving ending to something that started off so bad.
I never thought in my wildest dreams that #SNL would make me CRY!!! My brother is a Marine vet, so I found that last segment with Lt. Crenshaw and Pete Davidson really touching 🇺🇸 Well done, SNL. #NeverForget @nbcsnl

Pippa Middleton’s son’s name pays tribute to family
It’s been nearly a month since Pippa Middleton and James Matthews welcomed their first child into the world but we didn’t know his name — until now. According to the Daily Mail, the couple named their son Arthur Michael William Matthews.
A mouthful, sure, but with purpose behind it. Pippa’s father, Michael Middleton, is the clearest influence, but a less obvious namesake is James’ brother, Michael, who died in 1999 at the age of 22 while climbing Mount Everest.
Arthur has always been a popular choice in these circles, topping every royal baby name list. The one-month-old also shares his second name with his cousin, Prince Louis. And, William, well, we won’t go there.
Little Arthur arrived hours after Harry and Meghan announced that they were expecting their first child together. For the first time in a long time, you can bet Arthur won’t be one of the names they are considering.

Jennifer Garner stepped out with her new boyfriend
Sorry, Ben, but Jen has officially moved on. Jennifer Garner went public with her new boyfriend, John Miller, on Friday, hitting the town for a showing of Dear Evan Hansen.
E! News reported that they entered and exited the theatre separately, so as not to be photographed together, but looked happy once they reunited in their hired car. The site added it’s still pretty casual and they’re just “hanging out” and getting to know each other, which makes sense, since both Jen and John have only recently finalized their respective divorces. We’ll see what comes of it.
