Greenery was 2017’s colour of the year (in case it wasn’t obvious over the last 12 months), and even though there are still a few weeks left on the calendar, we’re already moving on to another colour. Pantone, the self-proclaimed “colour authority,” has released its hottest hue for the coming year, and things are looking surprisingly brighter than one might expect, you know, given the state of the world and all.
The 2018 Color of the Year that everyone is raving about: Ultra Violet, a vibrant, blueish purpley hue that makes you want to grab a milkshake and dance.
“Ultra Violet, is a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade,” Pantone said. “It communicates originality, ingenuity, and the visionary thinking we are seeking to create a meaningful direction for our future.”
Um, yes, but also, more simply put, it’s a lovely colour that is both wearable and easy to incorporate into any living space. Here’s some inspo to bring Ultra Violet into your life come January 1.
