Vanity Fair names their best-dressed stars of 2019

September is every fashion lover's favourite month, and this year is no exception. We might be sad to say goodbye to the steamy days of summer, but it's time to say hello to fall: the season where we can really start dressin’.Vanity Fair just released their list of 2019’s best dressed stars, so what better way to get some style inspo than by checking out who made the cut? Here are some of this year’s standouts, according to VF:Toronto Raptors star Serge Ibaka is one of those NBA players that make the pre-game arena walkthroughs so entertaining. His eye-catching sleek and tailored style caught VF’s attention, which is why he’s part of their ‘Virtuoso’ category. Listing Valentino and Balmain as his favourite designers, he also shares that a Nick Fouquet hat is his current obsession -- and we could tell by his notable chapeau style this past season.

Keeping it focused on Canadian style icons, we can’t forget Céline Dion -- and neither can VF. Photographed in her own Roland van der Kemp hat and gown, Dion shares that her favourite past fashion moment was in 1999 when she wore a backwards white pantsuit by Galliano. “People thought, 'Is that a joke? What is she trying to say?' I wasn’t trying to say anything. I’m just having a great time,” she explained. A mainstay on best dressed lists over the years, Dion has really stepped it up to a new sartorial level in 2019, so her position on VF’s list is well-deserved.

Listed in the ‘Classics’ section is none other than Keanu Reeves, whose signature look includes 1) streamlined suits, 2) Merrell boots, and 3) lots of black, among other things. And how much more classic can you get than being given the title of “Best hair toss in the business,” and being known for riding your own brand of motorcycle through Los Angeles? Reeves has an iron grip on that bad boy sex appeal, and doesn’t look like he’s letting it go anytime soon.

The ‘Originals’ list is filled with eclectic style icons like Billy Porter (those gowns!), Harry Styles (Gucci is one of his go-to designers), and Kehinde Wiley (who says fast fashion “shows a disrespect for the ceremony surrounding clothing”). And what about fashion-forward couples? Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are featured in VF’s ‘The Ensembles’ list, showcasing the style that we eat up every time they post on IG. He loves fanny packs and she despises the super-tiny purse trend: “Our phones are getting bigger, and no one’s leaving home without their Fenty lip gloss. We have stuff,” Union says -- so maybe the solution is he can put her phone and Fenty gloss in his fanny pack?
