Every woman loves going to the salon. Whether she’s there for half the day getting the works, or simply there on a lunch break because she needs a wash and blowdry for an event that night, there’s just something so relaxing about having someone do your hair for you. Now, imagine you have a stylist on hand who is willing to give you makeovers whenever you desire.

That’s the case for one grandmother in Moscow. Her granddaughter, Goar Avetisyan, is a makeup and hair specialist who loves to transform people. And her latest video stars her “beloved granny,” Shuraaa.

Avetisyan took to Instagram to say that Shuraaa has been putting off a trip to get pampered by her granddaughter for 17 years, but she finally caved. The video gets off to a gloomy start, complete with downer music. Shuraaa, sporting frizzy braided hair, looks pretty darn miserable. But that’s when the beat picks up, as does Shuraaa’s demeanour.

When Avetisyan unties the braid, there’s already an improvement. First off, that slate grey is the kind of hue many women bring to their own salons to try and match. Second, the waves the braid has made are kind of fantastic. Once Avetisyan gives her a professional blowout and finishes it off with some glam makeup, Shuraaa becomes the diva we all wish we could be.

And while the makeover is stunning, you can see how Shuraaa’s face completely changes. She starts off looking slumped and resigned to her look, and what she ends up with is a confidence that may have been long buried. Sure, the soft pink lip and filled brows look oh-so-glam, but not only does Shuraaa look gorgeous, you can tell she feels amazing as well. And that’s what matters most, right?
