On the weekend Hanna De Castro shared an old photo she found from a preschool dance recital with the Twittersphere. Her mom didn’t quite understand what the instructions ‘half up, half down’ meant for styling her daughter’s hair so she just tried her best. It didn’t exactly turn out how you would expect.

She hadn’t even had twitter for a week but over the course of the next few days, Hanna’s hair woes went viral. People everywhere were commiserating over the complexity of the dance teacher’s instructions and their own parent’s attempts at the hairstyle. From what we recall, that hair do was just a ‘whale spout’ in the ’90s, but apparently a lot of people had trouble with it.

So a cute little viral thread and then we’re done, right? Wrong. This is a story about long-lost love, people! Hanna got thousands of replies to her tweet, but one of them stood out.

Weird, right? We don’t remember what we ate for breakfast this morning, much less the names of the people we went to preschool with. Anyway, somehow, David remembered Hanna from what we can assume was at least fifteen years ago. Better yet, when some twitter users tried to get them together, Hanna admitted David was actually her preschool crush. Awww!

Ah, a tale of modern romance. We’re expecting that to be a Lifetime movie in the near future. Looks like Hanna has her mom to thank for her new Twitter fame and rekindled preschool romance.
