With classrooms closed across the country, some kids are having to shift most of their learning online. However, online learning isn't just for those still in school! Tech expert Avery Swartz broke down a few ways we all can pick up new skills through e-learning. Not only will they present you with some great hobbies, or build your career skills, they also happen to be the perfect way to pass the time in quarantine. LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

Thinking you’d like to pick up a second language, or dust off your conversational skills in a different language? There are many options for learning languages, including Mango, which is a self-led learning platform. It’s free until June 30, 2020. If you prefer having one-on-one lessons with a language tutor, try Preply. And if you want a combination of online courses and one-on-one video sessions with native speakers, check out Chatterbug.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to improve your memory or how to master the art of conversation, then Highbrow may be for you. The website has courses in over 300 topics, broken down into tiny bite-size pieces. Once you enroll in a course, Highbrow sends you a five minute lesson a day by email.
