Now more than ever, we are seeing celebrities band together to donate or raise funds to support COVID-19 relief. Luckily, even if you don’t know any celebrities, you can still get by with a little help from friends... bonus points if you know actual Friends stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. The two sitcom alums joined Adam Scott, Ben Stiller, and the Most-Evil, Magnificent-Bearded Master of Ceremonies, Jack Black, to play Celebrity Escape Room for Red Nose Day.If you’ve never been to an escape room, the goal is simple: you and your team are locked in a room and left to solve a series of puzzles and conundrums under a set amount of time in order to escape. For the celebrity version, someone thought it would be a glorious idea to have Jack Black spewing iconic and devilish one-liners at the team through a speaker system while popping balloons just to scare the bejesus outta them. Is Jack Black available for birthday parties? Asking for everyone.
It's truly beautiful to see Jack find his calling as he mercilessly tortured his celebrity friends. Just look at him evil-laugh at locking Courteney Cox in a locker, then mock her with, “Oh no Courteney, are you a little claustrophobe?” That's cold. Or how about when the group is taking a selfie and he pops an entire balloon wall with fireworks just to scare them witless, and then cackles, “Clean up in aisle two.” Dang, Jack, you are taking these celebs to The School of Mock. All hail our dark lord with the buzzer! The celebrity friends had moments of their own as well, of course, but anyone who's spent time in an escape room knows tensions can run a little high, regardless of how close you are. Lisa Kudrow played up her annoyance to the camera as Courteney and Ben (who, let's not forget, guest starred on Friends as a date of Rachel's with serious anger management problems) tried to tell each other what to do while failing to follow instructions themselves. Celebs—they're just like us.Also, can we talk about Lisa Kudrow’s laugh? Infectious, much? Gosh we missed ya, Pheebs.[video_embed id='1957155']RELATED: ‘Friends’ reunion likely coming at end of summer [/video_embed]Red Nose Day is an annual charity event aimed at ending child poverty, with viewers this year encouraged to donate specifically to children in shelters who have been hit hardest by the effects of COVID-19. Even though this TV special was a one-time thing, viewers are already clamouring for more Jack Black torture devices. Fan after fan took to social media to proclaim Jack Black the giver of life, and to beg NBC to make this show a regular series. Also the amount of GIF-able moments this show created will live on forever. This isn’t the first time a Friends castmate has provided COVID-relief since the pandemic took hold—both Courteney and Jennifer Aniston have appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to offer relief to frontline workers bravely doing their part in the ongoing fight during the pandemic.[video_embed id='1962495']BEFORE YOU GO: There’s a ‘Friends’ cookbook on the way[/video_embed]
