With all of the excitement leading up to the return of The X-Files on CTV later this month, one thing totally slipped our minds. How the heck are Mulder and Scully going to deal with all of our new technology and trends? Smartphones, apps, internet upgrades, it’s all over their heads! Luckily for them, they’ve got the FBI’s latest recruit, Special Agent Jimmy, on their side.

In a hilarious sketch from Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Jimmy joined The X-Files to not only help our favourite ’90s FBI agents with a spooky alien hunt, but also to brush them up on modern times.

As you’ll see in the sketch, Mulder and Scully could use some serious help upgrading their Gordon Gekko phone, their dial-up internet connection and their malfunctioning subscription to America Online. No Mulder, a floppy disc isn’t the answer!

Jimmy also caught them up on what’s hip these days, since their appreciation of pogs, Beanie Babies and Hootie and the Blowfish is slightly passé.

He even plays the romance counselor we always knew they needed. Now, if only they’ll listen.
