If you were confused when we told you that Jon Stewart’s first post Daily Show retirement gig was joining the WWE as their official SummerSlam host, you’ll most likely be even more baffled watching the footage from the show.

J-Stew, who is apparently a longtime WWE fanatic, played master of ceremonies at the big wrestling event that took place last night from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Not only did the former late night host open the show with some serious enthusiasm…

He also appeared in several segments with the WWE superstars throughout the night, including this run in with wrestling legend The Undertaker…

He even decided to get physical by interfering in a match. J-Stew apparently squashed his beef with villainous WWE Champion Seth Rollins and helped the baddie defeat squeaky clean good guy John Cena by delivering this serious chair shot to the stomach…

Yep, apparently Jon Stewart is now a pro-wrestling bad guy. And the New York fans seemed to love it! (Hip wrestling fans cheer the bad guys if you didn’t know.)

What do you think of J-Stew’s new gig?
