Watch Katy Perry prank Orlando Bloom with her English accent

After getting engaged to longtime boyfriend Orlando Bloom on Valentine’s Day, Katy Perry said the couple still want to take things slow and make sure they know everything about the other person before walking down the aisle. It looks like Bloom still has a bit to learn about his bride. Like, the fact that she’s really good at doing English accents.Bloom was a guest on Nicholas Grimshaw’s BBC show on Monday and was promoting his new drama Carnival Row when Grimshaw suggested they hear from some listeners on Tea Time Talent Time, a segment where people call in and show off their talents. One BBC fan asked to perform in her best Katy Perry voice for Bloom to see how she stacked up to the real deal. ‘Gemma from Hertfordshire’ performed two lines from “I Kissed A Girl,” but Bloom felt like the rendition wasn’t up to par with the original. “Gemma that was great, really well done,” said Bloom. “Not convinced. Hard for me because I live with that voice.”You do live with that voice, Orlando. You also live with Gemma. “Hi Katy Perry,” said Grimshaw following Orlando’s critiques, with Perry quickly switching back to her American accent to chastise her fiancé. “Honey, I thought you knew me better,” joked Perry. Commenting on Grimshaw’s Instagram post of the video, Perry added “Lol just live with this stranger.”

Grimshaw also shared his private message showing the radio host arranging the call with Perry, which revealed just how eager the popstar was to play a prank on her fiancé. As pointed out many times in the comments, the only thing better than Perry’s giddiness over pulling a fast one on Bloom is that Grimshaw refers to the actor by his full name. How many people named Orlando could they be discussing?

Beginning their relationship in 2016 and taking a short break before getting back together last year, Bloom proposed to Perry with a $5 million flower diamond engagement ring. The pair have been quiet about their wedding plans, but Perry did tell Britain’s KISS FM that the couple, who have both been married before, want to be on stable ground before walking down the aisle again. “One step at a time,” said Perry. “Definitely trying to lay the good emotional foundation for the lifetime of commitment, which is like a big deal.”If Perry and Bloom end up getting wed this year, as they’re rumored to be doing, it won’t be without a lot of help. Bloom has been busy filming his new TV series Carnival Row, which co-stars Cara Delevingne and premiered on August 30. Perry has been releasing new music in anticipation of her upcoming sixth studio album, including the singles “Never Really Over” and “Small Talk.”  Perry also dominated the headlines earlier this year after she and Taylor Swift publicly put an end to their feud once and for all with an olive branch, a plate of cookies and a hamburger costume.As for the wedding, TBD on whether Gemma from Hertfordshire will be playing Perry and Bloom's reception.
