The cast of
Schitt’s Creek really are riding high in 2020. Eugene and Dan Levy guest-hosted
Ellen recently, then they ran into the "ethereal" Nicole Kidman whilst walking the blue carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the sixth and final season of the show is airing right now. So when they showed up to
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night, of course they got a whopping standing O.“They didn’t even clap last time,” Catherine O’Hara quipped.“They were walking out last time,”
Jimmy joked. Oh please—we know the last five years have turned our beloved Canadian show into a cultural phenomenon. Four Emmy noms and five CCA noms this year alone is nothing to scoff at. But you know what is fair game? According to the cast, each other. Jimmy had them play a game called “Know Your
Schitt’s Creek” (ha, we see what you did there), and made Eugene, Dan, Catherine, and Annie Murphy take turns wearing noise-cancelling headphones while Jimmy asked them Qs about each other, in hopes that the answers would match up.So how did our crew of Canadians do? Pretty well!
What was more fun than the cast winning, of course, was just watching them interact with each other. Especially when it's at Eugene's expense, just like in the show. Even before the game got going, Dan was making fun of his old man's protectiveness over his hair (which he takes
every opportunity to do). Then sure enough, as soon as Jimmy asked, "What's the biggest pet peeve Eugene had to overcome on set?" all three of his on-screen family members had a suggestion. Something to do with food? Working with his kids? Nah, it's always the hair.
We also learned that Dan got his first job when Eugene dropped him off in front of a Gap Kids and told him he couldn’t come home without a job application. He’s tough but fair. Unfortunately, the team lost their winning streak when Annie was under the headphones and the other three were asked about the biggest fight she engaged in on set.“I just don’t want to lose the game!” Dan said. “I would say this is a trick question, she has never gotten into a fight.” Everyone agreed that the "nice Canadian girl" wouldn't do such a thing. But when Annie took off the headphones, she had a different tale to tell. “Biggest fight? Oh I would say it was with Dan.”“What!” he blurted. Who says he's not David Rose through and through?“It was about pizza. We got into a heated argument about which dirty fast-food pizza is the best, and you got so upset that you ordered five different pizzas from five different places, and made us have a taste test at lunch,” she reminded everyone.Dan took a moment to reflect and then added, “That is accurate.”Okay, now we need to know. Which pizza parlors deliver to Goodwood, Ontario where the show is filmed? Was it Pizza Pizza? Pizzaiolo? Pizza Nova? We need answers, guys.Watch
