Todrick Hall has had a varied, impressive career—choreographer and judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, performer in musicals like Kinky Boots, Chicago and Waitress on Broadway, and he’s currently gracing the cover of Billboard Magazine, talking about what it’s like to be Black and gay in America. Amazing. But hold your accolades, friends, because his greatest achievement to date may not make him an EGOT recipient, but it will live forever in the annals of history as the greatest thing to ever come out of quarantine–a viral TikTok explicitly about staying inside."Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs" is the song of the quaran-teens and the TikTok dance of the summer, even though Todrick only signed up for TikTok a mere six months ago. Viral fame comes at ya fast. This week, he joined James Corden on the The Late Late Show (weekdays 12:37ET on CTV) to judge some of James’ staffers taking up the TikTok challenge (and perhaps make a love connection).
First up was The Late Late Show’s talent associate Carter, whose moves are so sharp, they could cut glass. And Todrick was not only impressed with Carter’s colourful mask dance with antibacterial spray in his bedroom, he’s even a bit smitten. “I feel like I might have bumped into him in West Hollywood once or twice,” he quipped, referring to L.A.’s gaybourhood.“We actually have,” Carter said, joining the video-chat, and he was dead serious, too.“If this were Tinder, I would 1000% swipe right on you. Congratulations on your face!” Todrick flirted before joking to James, “You didn’t realize you were about to make a couple! Ebony and Ivory! Mr. and Mrs. Carter, it’s happening!”“There’s a love connection happening!” James gushed.[video_embed id='1978538']RELATED: We're getting a new look at 'Canada's Drag Race' [/video_embed]Other Late Late Show staffers like Jim, Kirby, Tufan and Tim took us on quite a TikTok journey between fabulousness and confusion (just what exactly was Jim doing?), but even though Todrick promised to ask out Carter on a date “very very soon,” he crowned director Tim as the TikTok winner for his attention to detail with his bright red costume and choreographed dance.
