Vancouver is easily one of Canada’s most beautiful cities. With its incredible parks, coastal views and amazing food, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with the place.

Todd Hayward would certainly agree. The American filmmaker was in the city with his two daughters to cheer on Team USA at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. But amid the excitement of the games, he probably wasn’t expecting to be so captivated by what he found north of the border. Fortunately for us, however, he kept his camera rolling the entire time.

The footage shows Hayward’s wide-eyed daughters weaving through totem poles at Stanley Park and eating ice cream on the harbour. They also take in the sights of Lynn Canyon, Granville Island, Cypress Mountain and pretty much everything else Vancouver has to offer.

“Little did they know, they would discover a place where ancient rainforests meet a modern city…a land where soaring mountains meet endless skies,” Hayward wrote on YouTube. “It’s amazing how culturally and naturally diverse this corner of the world is.”

Watching these girls, who have never been to Vancouver before, take in the city will bring you back to the first time you experienced it for yourself. Or, if you’ve never been to the west coast metropolis but always wanted to know what it would be like, this is a great way to see it through the eyes of the uninitiated.

Who knows, maybe you’ll fall in love, too. Check out the video above.
