What do you get when you cross the chromosomes of a pro-golfer with one of the greatest hockey players of all time? We’re about to find out.
Wayne Gretzky’s eldest daughter Paulina gave birth to a baby boy on January 19th. Dad? Eight-time PGA Tour winner Dustin Johnson. That’s some bloodline. No pressure, kiddo.
The baby’s name hasn’t been announced but unless there’s a break from Gretzky family tradition, it’s safe to assume it will start with the letter T (like Wayne’s sons Ty, Trevor, Tristan).
26-year-old Paulina announced the baby’s gender on Instagram last December and we’re pretty sure that’s when sports recruiters started marking their 2030 calenders with a giant red “X”. Whether the child turns out to be a champion driver or point-scorer has yet to be determined but Triple G (“Great” Grandpa Gretzky) will no doubt have a pretty big role in his grandson’s life. The new parents live close by in Southern California and Johnson recently told ESPN, “we have breakfast with them every morning, [and] dinner every night with them”. Poor kid, there’s really no escape from sports talk, is there?
Of course there’s still the chance baby Gretzky-Johnson could end up a science geek or (horror of horrors) an art major but with genes like this, we expect GREAT things from boy wonder.
