As movie fans, we all know that James Cameron loves to go big with his blockbusters. He’s all about excess, but also works at an obscenely slow pace to achieve his idea of perfection. So if you’re a fan of his work, hopefully you will be fine with the fact that the writer and director might just be dedicating the rest of this life to making Avatar sequels.

It was just revealed that Cameron and his writing team have penned scripts for four follow-ups to 2009’s blockbuster Avatar. Sure it was the highest grossing movie of all time, but seriously, FOUR more? In all fairness to Cameron, the fourth script was apparently an accident. Oy.

According to Avatar‘s composer James Horner, in the process of writing his originally planned trilogy of sequels, Cameron and his pals ended up cranking out four scripts. Horner says part of the delay in moving the projects forward is that Cameron is now trying to cut the stories back to three films.

What? Cameron recognized that he’s being excessive?

Knowing the way the director works though, there’s still a good chance there will be at least another four other films following up these ones.

How do you feel about that much Avatar? Do you even want one sequel?
