Just when you think makeup couldn’t be any more innovative, Sephora comes along and announces product releases that’ll have you opening up your wallet like you’re not behind on this month’s rent. From next-level highlighters to coloured mascaras to powder lipsticks (that’s right: POWDER lipsticks), Sephora PRO artist Eliza Davila reveals all of her secrets to us. You’re going to salivate at what Sephora has in store for January.

Monochrome is in, so what about matching your shadow to your lashes? The Sephora Collection V. For V.O.L.U.M.E Coloured Mascara ($13) comes in Purple, Marsala, Blue and Turquoise. The best part? These babies actually show up on dark lashes.

Lips

Mattes, glosses, satins, metallics–there is a sea of lip finishes out there. But what about matte metallic lipstick in powder form? Sure, Asian brands have done powder before, but this Sephora Collection Lip Powder ($15) takes it up a notch, providing a unique matte metallic finish on the lips. This inventive formula can be used alone or over any lip colour to add that extra oomph and catch the light.

Speaking of layering, why not layer the powders over Sephora Collection Rouge Tint {$15) lip stains? This stuff was literally swatched on our hand for a few seconds and Would. Not. Budge. A watercolour-like stain that lasts all day, it’s perfect for people like us who are too lazy to reapply.

Contouring isn’t going anywhere either (Thanks, Kardashians), so why not give those cheekbones some competition and contour your lips too? Sephora has made things extra easy for you with Sephora Collection Contour & Colour ($20), which makes it easy to overline Kylie Jenner style.

Complexion

No surprises here, highlighting isn’t going anywhere in 2017.

This is the Ferrari of all highlighters. From its sleek packaging to the product itself, Sephora Collection Pro Dimensional Highlighting Palette ($45) will make you Glow with a capital G. With shades like “Lunar Glaze” and “Golden Dimension,” these highlighters are definitely from another planet. The highlighters have a very emollient feel, which means less is more when it comes to application. The co-ordinating shades can be used alone or layered for your own signature highlight. A touch on the inner eyelids, brow bones and cheekbones will have you strobing like you’ve never strobed before.

To top it off? Sephora’s also releasing the Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Nude Glow ($25), which is an airbrush luminizer that delivers an instantly dewy finish. That’s right, folks. It’s highlighter in a can. Or Beyonce’s legs…for your face. Whichever.

But what about base? Well, to make makeup application that much easier, the new Sephora Collection Pointer Sponge ($15) fits perfectly over your pointer finger for effortless control. Plus, the sides are perfect for highlighting and contouring.

The good and bad news? All these shiny new products don’t come out until January…but at least now you know where to spend your Christmas money.
