Showtime has just announced that French actress Irène Jacob will be joining Season 3 of The Affair in a ‘major season-long arc.’ Translation: her character is totally going to be sleeping with Dominic West‘s Noah.
Jacob will play Juliette Le Gall, a woman described as “running from her own secrets, who helps (Noah) process a trauma from his past and understand himself a little better.”
Jacob is a BAFTA and César Award-nominated actress and won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in The Double Life of Veronique. Just when we thought this show couldn’t get any sexier, the French invade.
Season 3 of The Affair is still in production, but in addition to Jacob’s casting, we also now know that new episodes will feature a three-year time hop from the Season 2 finale, which is always a bit of a risky move.
When the series returns, Noah is trying to restart his life, Alison is trying to raise her daughter in Montauk alongside her ex-husband Cole and his girlfriend Luisa, while Noah’s ex-wife Helen is attempting to navigate both her relationship with Vik and her four children, all while dealing with guilt. Plus, there’s probably gonna be a lot of sex scenes, so that’s great.
Jacob’s addition, in true The Affair-form, adds more questions than answers. Does her presence mean Noah isn’t in jail? Did he and Alison ever reconcile to cover up their crime? Did Alison go into business with Cole? Will our heads eventually explode from this show?
In addition to Jacob, Season 3 of The Affair will also include guest appearances from Brendan Fraser and Jennifer Esposito.
If you’ll excuse us for a minute, we have to set our DVRs for the Season 3 premiere on Sunday, November 20th at 10 p.m. ET/PT. We like to be really, really prepared.
Season 3 of The Affair premieres Sunday, Nov. 20 at 9 p.m. ET on The Movie Network.
