We’ve seen some themed restaurants in our day, from Friends and Golden Girls, to Titanic and Mamma Mia!, but this one takes all the galleons. A Harry Potter-themed eatery is now open, but it’s in an unexpected place. Rather than it opening in Florida’s Harry Potter theme park or even in London, U.K., all you hungry wizards need to fire up your Firebolts and head to Islamabad, Pakistan to sample the fare at The Hogwarts Cafe.
It’s basically a Potterhead foodie’s dream, with the food and portions you might get in the Great Hall, The Three Broomsticks or maybe even Honeydukes. If you’re thirsty, there’s Butterbeer, Fire Whiskey and Wolfbane from the bar menu. And for those who are starving for some grub, there’s the Dragonfire burger, Sprout’s Spicy Chicken and the Hungarian Horntail steak, just to name a few.
“We have always wanted to visit a place where we can enjoy good food as well as where our kids can indulge in the world of Harry Potter. A nice place for the muggles, where they could work on their laptops, maybe read a book and have a mug of chilled Butterbeer at the same time,” brothers Hassan and Haider, who run the cafe, told BuzzFeed. “Butterbeer is our original recipe, and the Goblet of Fire (a green apple lemonade) is also pretty loved. The Dragonfire Burger, the Hungarian Horntail Steak and our dishes from Cho Chang’s Kitchen are also really amazing.”
The decor is straight out of the Great Hall, complete with a grand entrance. Just don’t forget to leave your Nimbus at the door.
There are also plenty of magical references from the wizarding world, from the portraits on the wall (sadly, no one’s moving in them) to the figurines on each table, to the furniture and the lighting.
Each table also sports its own symbol and there’s reading material everywhere for those who want to read them again.
And why wouldn’t you bring your own wand? You never know who you might run into (hi, Hedwig!).
Oh, and who could forget all the merchandise you can buy while you’re sipping your butterbear, from snitches to mugs with spiders on them (sorry, Ron).
Unlicensed merchandise?? Um, yes please! Now excuse us while we book our flight to Islamabad so we can start planning our Harry Potter party.
