London-based hobby photographer Martin Le-May recently captured an image taken right from the dreams of your childhood:

Beautiful, right? We bet you’d never thought an adorable weasel-woodpecker friendship like this could exist in the real world. But just imagine the advantage this weasel now has with an actual wingman at his side. He could pull off some epic base jumps, or save the world while perched on the shoulders of his majestic pal.

Except, no. That’s not what’s happening here at all. The weasel is actually trying to kill the woodpecker in savage fashion. We’ll let Le-May explain how the whole thing happened at Hornchurch Country Park:

“I heard a distressed squawking noise and feared the worst,” he told the BBC. “I soon realized it was a woodpecker with some kind of small mammal on its back.”

Luckily, shortly after snapping the photo, the woodpecker was able to get the animal off and escape.

Just another reason to never trust a weasel.
