Have you ever been intimidated by the confidence of an animal? Normally when we meet pets, we think they’re cute and cuddly or a little creepy (sorry, no, your snake isn’t cute) but very rarely do we meet one that makes us feel like we’re totally inadequate. That is, until we saw Larry.

Larry lives at Dog Tales Rescue and Horse Sanctuary and he’s the most confident bird—nay, living thing—we’ve ever seen in our lives. Larry is no bird. He’s a full-on feathered stud. He was brought to Dog Tales as a chick and he’s flourished into a specimen so gorgeous he’d leave the Corn Flakes rooster shaking.

On Dog Tales Rescue (Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on Gusto) this week, we meet the whole troop of DTR chickens, which also includes the silky roosters Harold and Kumar, the inseparable Thelma and Louise and the three stooges.

While the trainers corral their feathery charges at Dog Tales, co-owners Rob and Danielle continue their mission in Israel where they’re transporting dogs from a rundown shelter to Canada where they’ll give them a second chance at finding a forever home. With pouring rain and anxious canines to contend with, this trip could prove to be difficult.
