Let’s face it, not all Christmases are equal.
That’s something easy for us to forget as we gear up for another stressful shopping season. But a new video from WestJet is reminding us just how lucky we are over here.
The Calgary-based airline says it’s recently built a special relationship with the Puerto Plata community of Nuevo Renacer – one of the destinations it services in the Dominican Republic. That’s because for several years, airline staff have been visiting the community in partnership with Hamilton’s non-profit organization Live Different, building houses for those living in poverty.
This year, the staff wanted to do something special for those people in time for Christmas. Following suit with its holiday-themed video from last year, WestJet placed a large sled on a street in the tropical country. Inside was a small computer with a bright blue button. Once pushed, Santa appeared on screen and asked whoever pushed it what they wanted for Christmas.
Here’s the interesting part: Whatever those people wished for, no matter how big or small, Santa was going to grant it. Even if that meant showing up with a horse.
So break out the tissues, and get ready for a Christmas miracle you won’t forget.
