This week’s list of Crave recommendations features a popular crime drama you need to catch up on, a riveting documentary series on the underbelly of professional wrestling and a light-hearted drama to cool down with.

Ray Donovan

Showtime’s original crime drama follows the criminal exploits of the Donovans, an Irish-American family living in Los Angeles. Ray Donovan, played by Liev Schreiber, works as a “fixer” for L.A.’s biggest gangsters. However, in a spiralling series of twist and turns, Ray spends most of his time fixing his family’s problems instead. Joining Schreiber is Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok and Pooch Hall playing the other Donavon brothers, while series standout and veteran actor Jon Voight plays Mickey, Ray’s mischievous father. Garnering critical acclaim since its premier in 2013, this action-packed series is heading into its seventh season and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Stream the latest season of Ray Donovan now, with new episodes premiering Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Crave.

Dark Side of the Ring

In partnership with VICE, this Crave Original documentary series explores the unseen emotional and physical damages of professional wrestling, through stories from some of the business’s most iconic entertainers. Season one noticeably examines the infamous Montreal Screwjob, Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth’s on screen and real-life relationship and the sexual allegations against legendary women’s wrestling pioneer the Fabulous Moolah. The episodes are narrated by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley and retired professional wrestler Dutch Mantel. You can stream all six episodes of this critically acclaimed doc-series on Crave today.

Hidden Gem: Casual

From executive producer Jason Reitman, the director of Academy Award-nominated films Juno and Up in the Air, comes a subtle but heartfelt dramedy. Following a similar leisurely but witty pace as his films, Casual centres on a newly-divorced single mother, played by Saturday Night Live alumni Michaela Watkins, dipping her toes in the dating pool again, casual sex included. All this while living with her brother and teenage daughter, who are simultaneously exploring casual relationships of their own. The cast also includes The Mindy Project’s Tommy Dewey and God Bless America’s Tara Lynne Barr. Binge all four seasons of Casual, available on Crave now.
