This weekend’s list of recommendations features an Oscar-winning love letter to the Golden Age of Hollywood with two of the most famous men in the game, a fun '90s-style action flick and an independent comedic zombie thriller starring Bill Murray and Adam Driver.Once Upon a Time...in HollywoodQuentin Tarantino enlists Hollywood heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt for his ninth directorial film, Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood. Loosely based on the careers of real-life Western stars, DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, an aging television star desperately trying to reclaim success one last time before he is forgotten. Pitt’s Cliff Booth, Dalton’s trusty stunt double, accompanies the once-leading man as a chauffeur and listening ear. Tarantino uses the pair as a window for the audience into his rewrite of old Hollywood, as they interact with legendary stars such as Margot Robbie’s Sharon Tate, Steve McQueen, Bruce Lee and the notorious Charles Manson. A love letter to Hollywood’s golden age, Tarantino’s attention to detail is unbelievable, from the elaborate set designs mimicking Los Angeles in the '60s, to his character backstories and motivations. You can stream Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood on Crave today.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and ShawThe Fast and Furious series somehow manages to go bigger, faster and pack in more fun in its spin-off, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw. A throwback to '90s action movies, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham lean heavier into the ridiculousness and suspended disbelief that makes the series big box office fun. As the title suggests, the film centres on the unlikely alliance of series' side characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, as they team up to stop a genetically-enhanced super soldier attempting to release a lethal pathogen on humanity. Starring alongside the duo is Idris Elba with cameos from Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart. You can stream Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw on Crave today.
Hidden Gem: The Dead Don't DieThe greatest zombie cast ever “disassembled” prepare for battle against the undead, in the zombie comedy thriller, The Dead Don’t Die. Set in the peaceful town of Centerville, city authorities and citizens find themselves at war with a zombie horde as the dead begin rising from their graves. Written and directed by indie film veteran Jim Jarmusch, the film has an impressive cast, including Jarmusch regular Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Selena Gomez, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, RZA, Danny Glover and many more. Imagine Zombieland meets Annie Hall and stream  it on Crave today.
