This week’s list of recommendations features two horror films for your spooky Halloween binge and over 100 other scary titles by way of Crave’s annual Creepy Cravings collection.
A quick PSA before we start: holiday horror movies are incredible. You can watch them this Halloween and keep watching them until December. So let’s give spooky Christmas films a little more love this year, starting with 2019’s
Black Christmas, a feminist remake of a 1974 film by the same name. In this adaptation, the film follows a group of sorority sisters stalked by a stranger during their Christmas break. On top of being a fun horror-mystery film, director Sophia Takal weaves a strong social message about the patriarchy in as well.
Black Christmas stars Imogen Poots from FX’s highly anticipated adaptation of the critically acclaimed comic book series
Y: The Last Man and Brittany O’Grady from Apple TV’s most wholesome show
Little Voice. You can stream
Black Christmas on Crave today.
If you can't tell, this list's theme is horror in unusual places, so let's talk about
Underwater. Starring the fantastic Kristen Stewart,
Underwater follows a crew of oceanic researchers working for a deep-sea drilling company, stranded at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Of course, the film gets really fun and surprisingly intense when they realize they are not alone. Hunting them in the darkness is a mysterious and deadly unidentified deep-sea creature. Starring alongside Stewart is comic relief T.J. Miller, Vincent Cassel and Jessica Henwick from the upcoming
Matrix 4. You can stream
Underwater on Crave today.
It is not October on Crave without Creepy Cravings, Crave’s stellar collection of horror films and shows. Highlights of this year’s Creepy Cravings include Stanley Kubrick's classic
The Shining, alongside more recent horror titles
Gretel and Hansel,
Ma and Canadian horror film
Rabid. Of Course, Creepy Cravings has all the classics too, including 1973’s
The Exorcist,
Ghostbusters and
Freddy Vs. Jason, just to name a few. If you’re looking to stay in and binge horror flicks all weekend, pressing play and going down the list of Creepy Cravings is the way to go. The Creeping Craving collection is available on Crave until November 1st.[video_embed id='2056748']Before you go: These Halloween decorations look so real, 911 has been called five times[/video_embed]
