With James Corden around, you always have to be prepared to stop, drop and sing. Whether you’re in the car or attending an awards show, karaoke is always fair game. So naturally, when the star-studded audience at The Tony Awards was bored during a commercial break, James broke out the mic and grabbed some a-listers to do a little impromptu karaoke.

Have you ever heard Jake Gyllenhaal sing? We hadn’t either until now. Let’s just say that we are expecting him to voice a Disney prince in the near future. He and Sean Hayes, with a little help from Corden, sang ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin and it was hilarious and surprisingly good. James seemed to be as shocked as we are at the amazing quality of Jake’s voice. Seriously, is there a limit to this man’s talent? Sean was pretty good too, throwing in some vocal runs for a little added flair.

As wonderful as this is, it also makes us wonder a little. What do celebrities do during commercial breaks? Do they always reveal hidden talents and entertain each other? They are performers, after all. We may never know what goes down while we’re busy watching commercials, but we’re just happy that we got the privilege of seeing this particular tidbit of behind the scenes magic!
