If you happen to be in the market for a three-year-old, top-of-the-line SUV that has had all kinds of royal drivers and passengers, then we may have found the 4×4 for you. Prince William really is just like us, taking out an ad in Auto Trader to try and sell his Range Rover SE Vogue 4.4 V8. Three years ago, the manufacturer’s price was £71,295 (though William and Kate were given the pricey vehicle for free by Land Rover’s VIP Department). Everyone knows a car depreciates as soon as its tires exit the lot, so why is the asking price more than double now?
That’s right, sources told the Express they still hope to fetch £150,000 for it, perhaps because the owners know that the memories surrounding the car are priceless.
It’s the vehicle William and Kate used to bring newborn son George home from St Mary’s hospital in July 2013.
Will isn’t trying to turn a profit for his own benefit. According to the Express, proceeds from the sale will be given to charities, including Stand Down, which helps military personnel and veterans who suffer from psychiatric injury as a result of combat, and SunscreenIT, which donates and deploys computers to schools, hospitals and orphanages in developing nations in Africa.
The SUV may have been stripped of all extra security measures put in place by the royal detail but it still has extensive accessories that come with every Range Rover. It’s a sweet ride, has a fun back-story and the money is going to charity. And we’re sure it’s in mint condition with all the Cheerios and Mum-Mum crumbs carefully vacuumed from the floors and seat cracks. If you have the means, why not put in an offer?
