Happy Friday Dakota Johnson day!Today marks the 50 Shades actress’ 30th birthday. While Johnson has added many roles to her resume whilst in her 20s - like the 50 Shades trilogy, Suspiria, How To Be Single, and The Peanut Butter Falcon - that doesn’t mean that she’s going to stop her success train anytime soon. From delivering killer acting performances to slaying on the red carpet, this year Johnson never disappointed us - and we predict that it’s only up from here. Here is why year 30 will be her best one yet:
More movies
For one, new films are in store for Johnson’s 30th year, with the premiere of Covers being one of them. The film will follow Johnson and Golden Globe winner Tracee Ellis Ross through "the talent, fame, and fast-paced world of Hollywood’s music scene." Though we don’t have much else to go off of, we’re already anticipating the memes that will result from the on-screen pairing of the comedic duo.
Making an impact
In her 30th year, Johnson will also be putting her celebrity status to good use, with the release of a podcast that will share stories from survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and other traumas. Titled The Left Ear, Johnson asked women and girls from around the world to leave her a voicemail, telling her their story.“Your left ear is the ear closest to your heart. And by listening with your heart, you can save someone even just a little bit,” Johnson shared in a rare Instagram post.
And finally, new acting roles mean more red carpets! Johnson’s most recent feature film The Friend, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last month. The actresses left us envious when she arrived wearing a midnight noir Dior ballgown, which was one of her best looks to date, if we do say so ourselves. In true Dakota Johnson fashion, she’ll only outdo herself from here.
