Andreja Pejic (above) may not be a name you’re too familiar with, but she’s about to be everywhere. That’s because Make Up For Ever has named the trans model, formerly Andrej Pejic, as a face of the brand.
It’s a monumental decision for the makeup line to have a trans model as its cover girl, but Andreja isn’t the first to make waves in the beauty industry – she’s part of a growing roster of trans models who are getting it done and getting paid.

Just last year, model Lea T landed a contract with Redken, and in March of this year, teen Jazz Jennings was named the face of Clean & Clear.

On the subject of gender and modelling, Andreja tells Vogue, “There are just more categories now… It’s good. We’re finally figuring out that gender and sexuality are more complicated.”
That definitely seems to be the case in the world of fashion and beauty, which emerging model, actress and performer Hari Nef can attest to: “Trans folks are going to rise up for their moments and their money!” she tells Dazed.
