The FIFA Women’s World Cup is happening this summer in France. It kicks off on June 7th in Paris. The FIFA trophy is on a worldwide tour of all 24 participating member associations and it made it’s first international stop in Canada. Fun fact: Canada attracted a record-setting 1.35-million fans and 20.8-million unique Canadian viewers when it lasted hosted the world’s largest single sporting event for women.
Karina LeBlanc and Carmelina Moscato are both former Canadian National Women’s Team players (they played for Team Canada at multiple FIFA World Cups and won bronze medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games). They both recently dropped by our studio with the trophy to tell us all about the tournament and what fans should be looking forward to the most. Take a look in the video clip above.
