Royal seal of approval

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge surprised a group of amazing young people at Kensington Palace. The kids were crowned this year’s BBC Radio 1 Teen Heroes of 2016, following their inspirational work in mental health and volunteering.

The kids anxiously awaited their hosts but had no idea that it would be William and Kate walking through the door to chat with them and celebrate their remarkable work.

While it must have been fun for this group of young people to spend a day at the palace, we wonder if they have any idea how much they inspired the Cambridges, who are making it their life’s mission to better the lives of those suffering from mental health issues? Well done, Will and Kate, for recognizing their work, but bravo to these guys and girls for the wonderful things they do for others.

OMG, Demi Lovato and John Mayer?!

It’s no secret that Demi Lovato has a type (older) and John Mayer has a type (young) so it makes us wonder how this pairing hasn’t come up sooner. Perhaps because Lovato was in a long-term relationship with Wilmer Valderrama and didn’t notice Mayer lurking in the wings but now, it looks like something may have been found in a hopeless place.

Us Weekly is reporting the two were hanging out on Saturday, with one source telling the mag that “John had his arm around Demi and was whispering sweet nothings into her ear,” adding that “she was into it.”
The two collaborated previously in 2009, on “World of Chances,” a song on her second album, Here We Go Again. Perhaps just another song in the works, or a collaboration of another kind. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Anne Hathaway’s Oscar speech was basically all lies

Hathahate is a real thing and it became a full-blown epidemic around the time she won an Oscar, thanks to her acceptance speech. The actress is now telling the truth about that time and has a confession for all the haters: it was all a sham. Because Les Misérables left her pretty messed up.

“It’s an obvious thing, you win an Oscar and you’re supposed to be happy. I didn’t feel that way,” Hathaway told The Guardian. In Hathaway’s words: “I felt very uncomfortable. I kind of lost my mind doing that movie and it hadn’t come back yet. Then I had to stand up in front of people and feel something I don’t feel which is uncomplicated happiness.”

She further explained: “I felt wrong that I was standing there in a gown that cost more than some people are going to see in their lifetime, and winning an award for portraying pain that still felt very much a part of our collective experience as human beings. I tried to pretend that I was happy and I got called out on it, big time. That’s the truth and that’s what happened. It sucks. But what you learn from it is that you only feel like you can die from embarrassment, you don’t actually die.”

She hacked off her hair, became virtually skin and bones, sang her heart out and broke our hearts. Totally understandable that she kind of lost it. Now, can the hate finally come to an end?

Adam Levine had a sweet message for a fan about to have heart surgery

Will Hunt is a 16-year-old from Chattanooga, Tennessee, who was in the hospital awaiting heart surgery. So to make the time go a little quicker, he performed an awesome bedside cover of Maroon 5’s 2002 hit, “She Will Be Loved.” Backed up by his dad on guitar, Will slayed it. And because of how amazing he sounded, the video got to Adam Levine, who sent the young man a message.

Will was understandably shocked.

Will, who has since had the surgery, which was a success, told ET Online that he’d love to meet his idol one day. “I think I would cry first, and then freak out,” Hunt gushed. “I would just tell him how much everything about his music has helped me.” Come on, Adam. Let’s make this meeting happen!
