Motherhood should be a breeze. Utah woman Devi Mariah Ostler was dropping her son off at her mother’s house when she began to experience contractions. Knowing there wasn’t much time, she immediately headed for the hospital. But once she got on a highway, she was forced to pull over after her water broke. Ostler called 911, and the dispatcher talked her through the labour. Officers arrived only minutes before the baby was born.
How elaborate could it have been?? When police in New York noticed something a little off about a car’s license plate, they decided to have the driver pull over so they could investigate. It didn’t take long for officers to realize it was a DIY version of the real thing. They then discovered that Amanda Schweickert was driving with a suspended license and no insurance. She is now facing a series of traffic-related charges.
Where’s Frodo when you need him? Oregon police received an unusual call this week when a woman reported that her car was under attack by a pirate. Once officers arrived, however, the suspect claimed that he was a High Elf. Konrad Bass, who was dressed in chain mail and equipped with a sword and shield, admitted to officers that he had taken LSD and was out to battle the “evil Morgoth”–a villain in Lord of the Rings. He’s since been cited for criminal mischief and was taken to hospital.
We really feel sorry for the person who decides to claim it. The Macedonia Police Department in Ohio wrote on Facebook that they had recovered a lost bag of crystal meth from a garbage at a local motel. “In your haste to throw [out your garbage], you also tossed your baggy of Crystal Meth!!” the post reads. “Please contact us, or better yet, come in and see us.” There has been no word on whether or not anyone has shown up.
Kids, amirite? Khloe Powell’s mother became concerned when she noticed her daughter constantly complaining of a runny nose. Doctors initially thought it was a sinus infection, but when medication failed, the family got so confused they eventually visited a dentist. Days later, Khloe’s uncle got grossed out by her nasal leakage one day and told her to get a tissue. When Khloe blew her nose, out came a brittle, 1.5 inch safety pin. The daughter then confessed that she had found a bag of them months ago, and wanted to see how far she could stick one up her nose.
