One thing that you’ll hear a lot from any seasoned person on the Internet is, “never read the comments.” But beauty vlogger Em Ford decided to stop wearing makeup for three months and then document the feedback. Turns out, the Internet is full of completely confused assholes.

She’s a young woman who has acne-prone skin, and her tutorials have always reflected that. And yet, over her makeup-free three months, she received 100,000 comments and they were all horrible. For example, one user said she was “ugly as f!@#,” while another said, “I can’t even look at her.” The title of the video, “You Look Disgusting,” is also pulled from one of the comments she received.

What’s most fascinating is the way comments shift when she’s applied full makeup. It’s fascinating because the comments turn good, but they also continue to be bad. On the good side, Em will get words like, “I love that lipstick on you” and “you look so stunning.” On the bad (and confused side), she’ll get comments like “this is false advertising,” “trust no f—ing b—h with makeup” and “respect yourself damn s–t.”

See, it’s confusing? Just think, we live in a world where a girl doing makeup tutorials sends people into a cataclysmic rage spiral. Watch the video above and prepare to cry your eyes out.
