There was a foul on the sidelines of Wednesday night’s NBA finals game between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors, but it didn’t have to do with a player. More like, a playa. Jay Z and Beyoncé were spotted sitting courtside at the game and a clip of a woman speaking OVER Beyoncé (honey, no) to Jay Z has now gone viral. There was some side-eye. There was a low-key shoving. There was possible inspiration for Lemonade 2.0. Don’t hurt yourself, Hova.

ESPN shared the video of Beyoncé and her billionaire rapper husband, which shows the couple happily waving to someone across the court before they’re interrupted by Nicole Curran, who is married to Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob. Curran appeared intent on finishing her conversation with Jay, which did not include Ms. Knowles. Looking unimpressed at being the third wheel, Beyoncé gives the slightest hint of a side eye, something that would go unnoticed by most mortals but when delivered by Beyoncé has the possibility of removing 10 to 15 years off your life. The clip ends with Beyoncé adjusting herself in her seat, which is probably what her PR team would say. In reality, we’re convinced that Bey is giving the literal cold shoulder. As experts on iciness (our slogan for the Raptors is We The North, after all), we can say with certainty that Beyonce’s reaction was pure ice. Winter is coming, came back, and settled squarely onto a folding chair in the Oracle Arena.

Unable to read the room, or in this case the stadium, Curran’s lean in has sparked an outrage on Bey’s behalf on social media. Sending the Beyhive into formation, the interaction quickly began trending, with Beyoncé fans concerned for the safety of Curran. And possibly Jay Z.

Beyoncé and Jay Z have been open with their marriage issues, with both musicians writing about Jay’s infidelity in their music. The couple completed their On The Run II tour in October 2018 and appear to have resolved many of the issues in their marriage, but a lean over is still a bad look.

Seeing celebrities sitting courtside at a basketball game is nothing new, but this tense exchange between Beyoncé and Curran may be the most shocking event to happen on the sidelines of a basketball game this season. Sorry Drake. We love your shirts and your energy (got a lotta people trying to drain you of your energy), but Beyoncé delivering the most understated warning of all time is now our favourite viral moment from this year.

Also, the Raptors took their second win of the finals with a 123-109 win. We’re going all the way!
