Wonder Woman reigns supreme at the box office

If you didn’t see Wonder Woman over the weekend, you may have been the only one. Because the latest DC/Warner Bros. offering raked in $100.5 million, making it the biggest opening for a female director ever. EVER. Brava, Patty Jenkins. And that was just its domestic box office. According to The Hollywood Reporter, WW added a cool $122.5 million from overseas (including $38 million in China), giving it a total of $223 million. Not too shabby.

Though it still trails its DC (and Marvel) predecessors, the Gal Gadot-led flick happens to also be the best-reviewed superhero film ever, meaning it will likely maintain its stranglehold at the box office next week (watch out, The Mummy) and weeks after.

Just one more piece of evidence that we need more female storytellers and female-led projects, be it for moms and their daughters or just moviegoers in general. This might be the kick in the ass Marvel needs to finally make a standalone film for Black Widow.

Rihanna was the star at the first game of the NBA Finals

Golden State is now up two games over the Cleveland Cavaliers, thanks to two major ass-whoopings over the weekend. But it was Game 1 that got all kinds of extra attention — all thanks to Rihanna. She was in Oakland cheering on LeBron and the Cavs and heckling Kevin Durant any chance she could get.

But KD proved he could play through anything, making him the only human on the planet who could stare down RiRi.

And despite RiRi trying to get in his head, Durant led his team in scoring both games. As for Rihanna, he claims he didn’t even notice her. Uh-huh. We bet he’ll notice her if and when she shows up in Cleveland on Tuesday.

Katie Holmes is enrolled at Harvard Business School

She may be an actress and mom of an 11-year-old, but Katie Holmes is headed back to school — Harvard Business School. To be more precise, Holmes has signed up for the school’s Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports program.

Page Six reports Holmes is attending classes–under her company’s name, Noelle Productions Inc.– where she will learn how to launch and manage creative products and portfolios, manage and market talent and tackle other strategic challenges, according to the school’s website. We think she’ll do just fine.

I am so thankful and excited to be @harvardhbs with so many brilliant people. @anitaelberse #harvardbusinessschool

Alec Baldwin defends Kathy Griffin after Trump controversy

Alec Baldwin is used to hearing from haters, whether it be for past incidents or because of his SNL run playing President Donald Trump, so it was only natural that he would reach out to Kathy Griffin in the wake of that photo she posted, in which she was holding a bloody, decapitated head, closely resembling the POTUS.

Baldwin took to Twitter to basically tell Griffin that it’s all going to be OK — in a way only Alec can say it.

Kathy may have went too far with her prank, but with Trump siccing the Secret Service on her and basically being a total hypocrite, it would be kind of, well, interesting if she took back her apology.

Zac Efron showed off his stripper moves. That is all.

Zac Efron was on The Graham Norton Show, along with The Mummy co-stars Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis, and was challenged to recreate a famous pic of himself. This time around, however, instead of a parking meter, Norton’s set featured a stripper pole. And Zac worked it.

Even in a suit he’s hot. You’re welcome.
