This past Saturday, the British Royal Family got together for the Trooping the Colour, the annual celebration that marks the monarch’s official birthday, even though Queen Elizabeth‘s actual birthday is April 21, but we digress. They all gathered at Buckingham Palace to watch the military parade and the flyovers and it was a joyous event once again.

As per tradition, the royals all head to the balcony to wave and watch the pageantry. But before it all goes down, those on the balcony have to pay their respects to the Queen — with curtsies from the women and bows from the men. Since grown North American women don’t typically bow or curtsy, and Meghan got some flack for her curtsy debut last Christmas, she knew she had to get this just right. It was her first-ever Trooping the Colour, after all.

So, naturally, she turned to her husband, Harry, who’s been doing this since he could stand on two wobbly legs.

A fan account for Harry and Meghan caught the pre-curtsy confirmation. You can see Meghan whisper, “Do it?” to which Harry mutters back a quick “yes.”

Um, how cute?! And what’s cuter is that she was still a half beat behind Harry and Kate. Aw, Meghan will get the hang of it. In fact, she’ll be getting all kinds of practice on Thursday when it’s just her and the Queen. Curtsies all day.
