When you think of Jessica Simpson, you probably think of “Chicken of the Sea,” her ex-husband Nick Lachey or that time in 2004 when she dropped a ton of weight for the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie. But after all that and a short-lived pop career revival, Jessica teamed with Aldo in 2006 on a small collection that did leaps and bounds beyond what was expected. So, like any mogul-in-the-making, Jessica doubled down and added new pieces and built the Jessica Simpson Collection into a brand that’s been projected to reach a value of $1 billion. And that brings us to today, when Jessica revealed in her Spring 2015 campaign, a fit post-pregnancy bod on the rocky plains of Sedona Valley.
Sure, wearing heels and an ankle-length dress on a cliff in Sedona is probably the worst idea anyone has ever had, but she is looking great. And that’s what fashion is sometimes – the visual cue of some impossible ideal that should serve as inspiration, not something to be exactly duplicated. You would be wise to take in the bounties of Sedona’s sweeping vistas, but wear sensible hiking attire, lest you trip and fall to your untimely death.
Welcome back, Jessica.
